Empowering India's Craft Sector At FTF-I, we are committed to advancing the interests of India's craft sector through rigorous policy research and advocacy. Our strategy revolves around supporting policy research by distinguished scholars within the craft sector.
Policy Research Support
FTF-I facilitates and supports policy research by esteemed scholars specializing in the craft sector. This research goes deep into the challenges and opportunities faced by artisans and craftspeople across India. We aim to bring positive change within the craft sector by addressing issues, including market access, fair wages, and sustainable production practices.
Dissemination Workshops
A key aspect of our strategy is the dissemination of policy research outcomes. FTF-I organizes workshops at both state and national levels, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders. These workshops serve as platforms for dialogue and collaboration, with participation from government officials, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), academia, and, most importantly, the artisan community.
Advocacy for Supportive Policies
The ultimate goal of our policy research and dissemination efforts is to advocate for the formation of supportive economic and trade policies that promote traditional handicraft items. We seek to influence policy decisions that prioritize the well-being of artisans and ensure the sustainable growth of India's craft sector by engaging with policymakers and allied stakeholders.
Facilitation and Outreach
FTF-I facilitates the cost of policy research and provides access to research scholars through its extensive network within the craft sector. By leveraging our reach and expertise, we aim to empower artisans and amplify their voices in the policy-making process.
Building Partnerships
Collaboration is at the heart of our advocacy efforts. FTF-I actively collaborates with government agencies, NGOs, CSOs, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to drive meaningful change within the craft sector.
