Our History
The Fair Trade Forum India (FTF-I) commenced operations in 1989 and traces its roots from the Global Fair Trade Movement of the 1960s.This movement is founded on the principle of creating economies where prices are directly correlated with production costs, ensuring fair and equitable market access for all producers.
Mission
Our mission is to advance the principles and practices of fair trade to promote equitable and sustainable development. We are dedicated to empowering marginalized producers and artisans, fostering social equity, and advocating for a more just and inclusive global trading system. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we strive to create positive impact, improve livelihoods, and uphold the dignity of individuals and communities across India. At FTF-I, we are committed to building a world where trade is fair, communities thrive, and every person has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
Vision
Our vision is to foster a world where fair trade principles are embraced, fostering sustainable livelihoods, social justice, and environmental responsibility. We strive to empower marginalized producers, promote social equity, and advocate for environmentally sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. By raising consumer awareness and promoting ethical consumption, we aim to create a more equitable and sustainable global economy that benefits producers, consumers, and the planet.
