About
Orissa Rural & Urban Producers’ Associaion (ORUPA) is a voluntary democratic federation of the handicraft and handloom artisans in the state of Odisha that was formed in 1990 with the prime objective of promoting the work and life of the artisans in the State of Odisha.
The basic thrust was on preserving the traditional art forms, provide the marketing avenues to the artisans to sale their products at reasonable prices, further promote the quality of the products, bring in new products, develop the skills of the artisans, provide regular employment and income to the artisans, bring in more and more new generation artisans to the fold of handicraft and handloom sector, look into their welfare, develop proper infrastructure, capacity building of the artisans, networking among them etc.
