About
SIPA is a Network - collective initiative of needy and interested artisan groups and
their support organizations – NGOs, Producer Co-operatives and self-help group
(SHG) networks in South-India involved in sustainable livelihood activities.
SIPA
was promoted & registered in 1985 as a charity, SIPA works with over 7000 skilled
artisans with a large number of Women artisan groups, spread over, in all the
southern states.
SIPA has been enabling artisans in product-development, value-
addition, market promotion aggregation and consortium-exports.
SIPA also
specializes in training / support services with capacity-building, skill-enhancement,
packaging & presentation, marketing and management aspects and thus, building
viability & visibility both for the artisan members and their support organizations,
promoting & networking, based on the concept of “ Learning by Sharing ”.
SIPA Fair-trade (promoted by SIPA Society) since 2009 has been exporting eco-
friendly range of products and promoting globally accepted fair-trade standards, both
at production and in marketing the product-range; thus striving for Consumers’
satisfaction, sustainable livelihood and development of stakeholders.
SIPA is actively
involved in networking and lobbying for the change-process keeping “ People &
Planet before Profit ” and enabling “ Think Globally and Act Locally ”, for
Sustainable development.
SIPA Fair Trade has been one of the early member of IFAT / WFTO since 1991 and
one of the guaranteed member of WFTO since 2015.
