Calcutta Rescue - The NGO was set up by Dr.
Jack Preger, a British Doctor in 1979.
The pioneer of street medicine, who devoted his life for assisting people living in dire poverty in the city's slums.
The activities are operating from Kolkata, India and the projects are Street Treatment Clinics including Mobile Van Clinics, Non-formal Schools, Water Filtration, Dept.
of Tuberculosis, Vocational Training, Handicrafts & Sewing Training Centre.
The handicraft trainings are transforming the lives of Calcutta Rescue's ex-patients, school dropouts and poor slum people making them self-employed.
