Unnayan founded in 1991 by a group of seven like minded youths, is a voluntary organization located at Chunar district, Mirzapur of Uttar Pradesh (India). It is a non-profit, secular and apolitical organization with focus on the empowerment and development of women and children. For the last 19 years it has taken up various initiatives for alternative employment/ income generation for women belonging to poor section of society. Besides, it has made efforts to make the development process a holistic approach by addressing the issues of Education, Health, Rural Energy and Capacity Building of rural women from marginal communities. Since 1991 it has come a long way with a number of positive achievements to its credit. Unnayan Sansthan’s goal is to make women an equal partner in development and socio- economic affairs.
Objective of the Organization:
Making women as equal partners in development by improvement in their Economic and Social conditions.
To provide them equal opportunities for education, health services, vocational training, career planning, social skills, leadership and work experience.
To enhance the education, health & nutritional standards of the children.
To facilitate and promote agriculture, animal husbandry, water management, environment, sanitation and also introduction and assimilation of appropriate technology in various sectors to enhance productivity and reduce drudgery..
Strengthening the Panchayati Raj through womens active participation.
